30 weeks

I can't believe this year is almost over! And, that we only have 7 weeks left before the babies arrive (at the most!) I have been so anxious lately, telling everyone I can't wait to see what these two are going to look like. Then I realized we only have 7 weeks left and I'm wondering if we're ready??

When I sat down to make a list with Gabe about what we have to do, there actually isn't that much. Which is good, we have pretty much done all we can. I guess I can relax but I keep having a weird need to get everything done right now, but, there really isn't anything to do??

My glucose test came back high last week so I'm going for the 3 hour test tomorrow which I'm sure will be a blast!? Then Wednesday we have another Dr appt and next Monday an ultrasound. I'm anxious to see these two again.

The pounds are starting to creep up faster than they have been. I want to throw the scale every time I stand on it, but I guess its a good thing, because it means the babies are growing, right? I 'm also getting more and more uncomfortable. It is painful just to roll over when I'm in bed. So actually having to get out of bed is tortue. I have to roll back and forth to get some momentum first:(  I can't imagine how bad it's going to be in another month!

I really need to start taking these pictures when I'm dressed and have makeup on, instead of 5 mintues before crawling into bed!

Merry Christmas

Last year Gabe and I took some funny "Ugly Christmas Sweater" pictures as a joke. I wish I would have  found this adorable sweater for Maggie back then, so we could have included her!!!

Doesn't she look excited about her new sweater, HA, ya right!

29 Weeks

With being pregnant and dragging my big butt, or belly to work every day AND getting ready for Christmas I have been so exhausted the last few weeks. I had a small breakdown last week after another night of no sleep and not being able to put my feet into any shoe comfortably. I couldn't get myself to pull the car out of the garage without breaking into tears. When I came in I might have scared Gabe a bit with my slight hysteria. So, he suggested staying home which I did and fell right to sleep, even though I only slept an hour, it was exactly what I needed.

Over this weekend, I feel like my belly just popped out. I'm huge and oh so uncomfortable! Sometimes the twins shift just right and I can barely walk. Even when they aren't in a bad position I definitely have the waddle down:)

We finished the last of our Christmas shopping yesterday. All I have to do now is make some salsa as gifts for a few friends and I'm done. I've been in such a rush I haven't even been that excited for Christmas, and its my favorite holiday?? I'm just counting down the days when I can get an extra two days off. I am excited to see Aaron and Ania though, especially since they have baby Alina with them:)

28 weeks

We had an ultrasound on Friday and looks like everyone is good. The little man is weighing in at approx 2 lbs and 7 oz and the lady is around 2 lbs and 5 oz. Again, they didn't give us a CD so I don't have the pictures, although they weren't that clear anyway.
Gabe also put the first crib together and its huge. I'm not sure how it's going to look with two. The room is just too small. It is going to be very cramped but I'm sure the babies won't notice. I think we're going to keep them in one crib for the first few month and then we can put in the second crib. That way I can at least have a chair in there for the first couple months.

Baby Shower # 2

I had my Fendley Family baby shower yesterday. It turned out great. My mom did a great job and everything looked great, even after a major cake disaster. I loved the cake! We got some great baby gear and now our nursery is full. This means I will be spending all of Saturday organizing it. We are running out of space already!!

One shower down, two more to go

I had my first baby shower today at work. It was really nice, they did more than I thought they would. They also gave us both high chairs and bouncers that we registered for.

We also received our photos back from Heather. She is a great photographer, if anyone is interested her website is plainlytaken.blogspot.com. I love her, she makes you feel very relaxed right off the bat. Here are a few of our favorites...

Belly Button

So, it's not an outie, but it isn't any innie anymore either. I've been wondering when it would pop out, but it hasn't. It looks like it is just closing in on itself, strange, very strange??

In other news, our stroller and car seats arrived last night. We came home from our first birthing class and they were piled up next to the house....We've been too busy to open them yet, plus we don't really have any room to put them anywhere.

Our birthing class was alright. I got the giggles during the breathing excercises though and Gabe said I embarrased him. That's what I do, when I'm in a quiet setting where everyone is focusing, I start laughing. I barely made it through our wedding vows. I kept making faces at Gabe and trying hard not to laugh??

26 Weeks

I hope everyone had a wonderful Thanksgiving. I spent mine cooking a turkey and baking pumpkin cheesecake to take to my in-laws house. I was a little worried about my turkey because the thermometer never popped out, but everyone survived, phew! This is the first holiday I didn't get to see my family at     all :( Gabe and I went and had leftovers with my parents on Friday though.

Before that we decided to do a little shopping, not the crazy Black Friday shopping. We slept in and had breakfast first. We went to Babies R US and bought diapers that were on sale, 2 for 1. Unfortunately, they only had newborn sizes left, but with two babies I'm sure we'll need them. I also found a really cute tree decal for the nursery. I think I'm going to scrap the chandelier idea and use the tree instead. Gabe appreciates this since the pink chandelier isn't exactly boyish. We also ordered the crib that his mom is buying. My parents also ordered the stroller AND car seats, which is really appreciated, since those items added up fast! Thanks Mom & Dad!!

When we got home from shopping we put the newly painted dresser in the nursery closet and I hung up some of the clothes we've already received. We have a lot of pink stuff! I can't wait for the crib to come so it will start looking like a real nursery and we can start planning on a furniture layout.

25 weeks

At our appointment on Thursday the dr said I am 24 weeks and 5 days, measuring 33 weeks. What does that mean? I guess it means I'm as big as someone who is 8 months pregnant with one child. But, with twins that's normal. She was much friendlier this time around too, which was comforting, maybe she was just having a bad day the last time we met with her. We still haven't met the second dr, all of our scheduled appointments with her have been cancelled.

Gabe and I had our pictures taken Saturday and I can't wait to see how they turned out. I also finished one of the baby mobiles. It looks ok, especially if you don't get too close:)

So much to do...

and so much time to do it, but I'm a procrastinator, so I haven't started:)

I have started making a list of things I'd like to complete before the babies get her. Most of them are for the nursery but not everything.

1. Organize all closets, cabinets and drawers. This includs the bedrooms and kitchen
2. Organize the laundry room so we can actually find stuff
3. Organize the office, which means shredding all of the crap we have been saving for weeks, months, YEARS! We can barely move in this office right now, there is so much junk stacked up.
4. Paint nursery furniture. One dresser and 2 tables
5. Make mobiles
6. Buy a lot of stuff: Curtains for nursery, rugs (one for nursery, one for living room), buy night stands for our bedroom.
7. Put new flooring in bathrooms
8.Purge, purge, purge. We had a garage sale last month, but it didn't occur to me to just stick everything out there. Now I realize we have about 7 comforters, mostly queen size (we have a king?) Too many clothes, too many non-matching dishes, and just a whole lotta junk in general.

I know my original list had more "to do's", but I lost it....That along with my mind:)
So I will be adding to it for sure!

Ha, just remembered, Christmas is only 5 weeks away!! 5 WEEKS! So, add Christmas shopping to the list!

Lucky girl

On the way home the other day I called Gabe to let him know I'd be late because traffic was more of a disaster than usual. Before we hung up he told me he had a surprise for me. He often tells me this, getting my hopes up, only to find out that he's full of it and there is no surprise...Apparently, he finds this amusing.

But, this time there really was a present. He gave me this necklace. So cute, it looks like two peas in a pod. I think I like this guy, and I might just keep him around for awhile:)

24 wk Ultrasound

So the only thing I could do right now is take a picture
of the ultrasound pictures:( The first two are of the baby boy and the last is of the little lady.

Sorry for the poor quality...

24 Weeks

We have reached the 6 month mark, YAY!  It seems like time is going by too fast but, I'm glad it is. I can't wait to see what these two kids look like. Gabe thinks they'll come out looking like his family, a ton of straight black hair, sticking straight up. I hope at least one of them looks like me:)

We had an ultrasound on Friday and everyone looks great. The tech says the babies are each at 1 lb 6 oz, but they can't measure the length. According to pregnancycenter.com they are just under a foot long each. They are fighting for room though:) They were head to toe on Friday and we got some decent photos of the little man, but the little lady only turned around a couple of times. they didn't give us a photo CD this time so, I'm going to try and figure out a way to get these photos online, sorry:(

I thought we had settled on names, but now we're not so sure. I like the thought of using family names, and our names, but then I like a few different ones. Any suggestions??

Yay, camera works

I fixed my camera, for now...How tired do I look in these photos:(

I've actually been sleeping better too, not great but more than 2 hours a night finally.

Here's a picture of Gabe and I at our friends wedding this past weekend. It turned out very pretty but by 9:30 I was done and ready to go home!

progress

I'm now 23 weeks pregnant and things are still running fairly smooth. I have a constant pain in my upper abdomen, feels like I worked out or something,  but it's just from my muscles stretching. That's what I think anyway??

Gabe is nearly done with laying the new flooring in the nursery. I can't wait for it to be finished, for one, I can't wait to really start putting the room together and second, because I'd really like to walk through our 'office' without climbing over tons of junk.

According to pregnancycenter.com, the babies are about 11 inches long and just over a pound. It's hard for me to believe there are two babies in here, I don't know how they are able to move, but they are and more so than ever. The website also said they enjoy it when I dance?? Ok, I'm not sure how they know but it works for me since I danced a bit yesterday at a friends wedding.

I don't have any pictures for today, because something is wrong with the USB cable?? Hopefully I can get it fixed soon so I can post pics and see the ones from the wedding too:)

22 Weeks

Things are moving right along and it seems time is going by fast. Gabe and I finished our baby registry at babies r us and target. It was fun and a little overwhelming. There is so much stuff we need, especially with two on the way. I'm still not sure if I like the bedding we chose, Gabe found a set he liked at Target for the little man, but it's not my style or what I had pictured in the room at all. And for our little lady, it's all mismatched.....I think I might have to go back and remove/add some stuff.

Other than that there is nothing to report. I rarely put makeup on during the weekends so my head will be cut off frequently. I noticed this morning the brown spots around my left eye have spread even further! Gross!

21 weeks

It's been a boring few days. Gabe left to go hunting on Thursday morning and won't be back until tomorrow. I'm used to him being gone most nights because he is working so I look forward to having him around on his nights off, so I've been pretty bummed the last couple nights. Tonight, I attended the wedding of a co-worker, talk about lonely. Going to a wedding solo is pretty lame. I was the only one at my table without a date. Gabe's gonna owe me for this one.

My belly is hurting. I can literally feel it growing and it is painful. I measured my belly though and it has grown an inch in the last 4 1/2 weeks. I sware its more than that! I'm also feeling more movement from the babies but it's still pretty sporatic. This morning I didn't want to get out of bed because I could feel them moving and I knew I wouldn't be able to once I got up. So I laid there for another 30 minutes:)

2 days off and now back to work

We've just returned from our routine Dr visit and things are still going great. We got to hear the heartbeats, one is in the 180's and the other in the 160's...Both in normal range. Mine was 110/80, also normal:) The dr did say the twins sounded like they were doing gymnastics in there, probably the orange juice I drank before going. She also said we will start getting monthly ultrasounds which is awesome, and the next one should be in 2-3 weeks. Women carrying twins typically receive ultrasounds each month to make sure they are growing at the correct rate...

I have been sick with a cold for the past four days and I called in yesterday and today. I'm feeling better and I have to go back to work. I don't want to waste all of my sick time. But, going back to work makes me feel sick again:) I hate my job lately and for those following, I did not get the job I interviewed for. BUMMER! O'well, hopefully something else will come along later.....

20 Weeks

Wow, I thought it would take forever to reach the halfway mark but here we are. Time has actually flown by. I thought I should put some of my projects on hold so I have something to keep me busy towards the end, but when I stop to think about it we only have about 4 months left, and that's if the twins decide to go all the way. ( Twins are considered full term at 37 weeks) So the twins should be here no later than Mid February, but twins also like to come early. My pregnancy has been going smoothly so far and I pray that it continues that way.

I've had a little swelling in my hands and feet. I think I'm also developing a cold, YAY....Other than that things are good....I cut my head out of the photos again because I just woke up and look very scary.

The Fair

Who doesn't enjoy the a fair or carnival? Besides my husband that is, but he took my anyway. We went last night and it was pretty fun, even without being able to ride the rides. I was mostly looking forward to the greasy food and the ferris wheel. We stopped at the ferris wheel but the line was too long for my current lack of patience. We walked around and saw the worlds biggest this and the worlds smallest that. We enjoyed the fry bread, turkey legs, chili fries and watermelon juice- YUM! I'd actually love some more watermelon juice right now. The only ride we did get on is, well I don't know the name but it's the one that goes slowly over the whole fair. I thought it would be fun to see everything and get some photos but I didn't realize how shaky it was and how scared of heights I am.

Moving on....

So I'm done complaining...I don't really have any updates but thought I'd share some photos I took a few weeks ago. I went on a trip to Pinetop with my mom and Alexis...

Can you tell where these were taken?

And this little lady is Airica's daughter- Makayla...What a cutie!!

Sleep? I wish!!

I've gone about two months now, without a full night of sleep or even a half-night of sleep. It's really starting to catch up with me. I'm so exhausted. I actually felt like crying on my drive home today, because I just wanted to close my eyes for 5 minutes. Of course, I try to lay down once I get home but between the phone ringing and the door bell, I can't relax for more than 30 seconds.

Nursery Construction

It took some time, but the soon to be nursery, formerly the treadmill/junk room, has been cleaned out. Gabe painted it the prettiest robin's egg blue. Tomorrow he's installing shelves in the closet. Then all of the stuff we've already collected can come up off the floor and Gabe can start installing the new floors. (Once he returns from his hunting trip of course) We're going to use the same wood flooring we have in the rest of the house. I have a new hatred for carpet ever since we ripped it out of the living room. Pretty disgusting how much dirt collects underneath it. It cannot be healthy, especially for little people crawling around on it.

I'm trying to become a creative/crafty person. I am going to try and make the baby mobile's myself. I'm thinking butterflies for the little lady and planes for the little man??I have already re-covered the lamp shade for the room, (looks better in person)

Some of the stuff we've already collected: A pink mirror from garage sale, a chandelior decal from Michael's and a chick from another garage sale

What I'm looking for: A nice comfy chair, not one of those nursery gliders, but something that would fit in any room.
